One Direction want to smash their BRIT Award

Boyband One Direction, who earlier this week (February 21) won the BRIT for Best British Single, have admitted that in order to share the award fairly they might smash it into pieces.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Liam Payne explained that they would rather not take turns displaying the stunning Peter Blake-designed trophy in each of their houses and instead would prefer to divide up the shards after destroying it: "We are going to break the award into five."

Niall Horan added: “I want the head. The fans put us where we are, we are so grateful to have this opportunity.”

It was also confirmed last night, February 22, that the lads' BRIT Award-winning single has become the highest charting U.S. debut by a UK act since 1998
