Meat Loaf is recovering from illness

Legendary rock star Meat Loaf is on the mend after being taken ill moments before a scheduled live television appearance in the UK on February 29.

The 'Bat Out Of Hell' musician was due to sit down for an interview with the Loose Women hosts earlier this week, but skipped out at the last minute because he was feeling unwell. Last year, he fainted at several concerts but blamed his ill health on his asthma.

Now, a spokesperson for Meat Loaf has confirmed he is suffering from a bout of the flu and is on the road to recovery:

"He's got a mild case of the flu and has been advised by doctors to rest after a gruelling international schedule promoting (new album) Hell In A Handbasket. Meat is expected to make a quick, full recovery."
