The Amy Winehouse Foundation to offer creative scholarship to talented pupil

The family of the late Amy Winehouse have launched a search for the next big talent and confirmed that they will offer a creative scholarship to a pupil who otherwise couldn't afford it to "realise their talents".

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Amy's father Mitch Winehouse explained:

"Amy was a pupil at the Sylvia Young Theatre School. This is where her talent was recognised and nurtured. The Foundation would like to give a child who otherwise couldn't afford the same opportunity the chance to realise their talents."

"The scholarship is such great news for us after all the recent ups and downs. Nothing will ever make up for our loss, but this is a wonderful thing for us to be able to do. The scholarship is something that we are deeply, deeply proud to be offering. It will keep Amy's name alive in the best possible way."

The Amy Winehouse Foundation will present the scholarship to a promising and gifted student, and Sylvia Young added: "We loved Amy and we are thrilled and honoured the Amy Winehouse Foundation is setting up this scholarship in her name."

"It would be wonderful to find another Amy but there was only one of her. We would be happy to find a singer, dancer or actor who has a special talent."
