Madonna blasts critics of her parenting skills

Madonna has spoken out against critics of her parenting skills in a revealing interview about her experiences of being a single mother.

The ‘Hung Up’ star, who releases her 12th studio album, MDNA, later this month, told The Sun newspaper that she’s tired of the flak she gets about the way she raises her four children, Lourdes, 15, Rocco, 12, David, six, and Mercy, five:

"Everybody has something to say about the way I live my life. At the end of the day I'm doing my best. If people don't like it, then that's really their problem."

The 53-year-old admitted that she has sometimes found it difficult since her divorce from second husband, film director, Guy Ritchie, four years ago:

"I'm not going to lie — it's hard work having four kids and doing all the work I do.

"Sometimes I cope with it very well, sometimes it's a struggle."

Madonna also confessed that her role as a lone parent inspired her to write new album track ‘I Don’t Give A,’ adding: "It's about the life of a single mother.

"It's a challenge juggling everything — multi-tasking is my middle name. I try to express that."
