Gotye spends fifth week at number one

Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ has retained the UK number one spot for a fifth week.

The Belgian-Australian’s collaboration with Kimbra, which last week passed the half-million sales mark, comfortably outsold nearest challenger, Nicki Minaj’s ‘Starships,’ in its fourth consecutive week at the top of the charts.

Alexandra Burke appeared live on BBC Radio1’s chart show to perform new single, 'Elephant,' which entered at No.3, ahead of Emeli Sande's 'Next To Me,' Flo Rida's 'Wild Ones' and David Guetta's 'Titanium,' whilst Jay-Z & Kanye West's 'Paris' reached a new peak at No.10.

Elsewhere, there were new entries for Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Greyhound’ (No.13), Jason Mraz’s ‘I Won’t Give Up’ (No.16), Azealia Banks’ ‘212’ (No.24), LMFAO’s ‘Sorry For Party Rocking’ (No.30) and Tyga’s ‘Rack City’ (No.40).
