Professor Green tired of being asked to freestyle

Professor Green has revealed that he’s tired of being asked to freestyle when doing radio and TV interviews.

The 28-year-old MC, who regularly competed in freestyle contests before signing his first record deal, told Q magazine that he would ‘politely tell ‘em to f*ck off’ when asked what he would do if someone challenged him to a rap battle in the street before adding:

“Every time I do a radio or TV interview, they’re like, ‘You used to freestyle…so go on then.’

“I’m not a monkey with a box full of 50ps. If you saw Nigel Mansell you wouldn’t say ‘Give us a quick lap.’ It’s a bit of a wind-up.”

The ‘Read All About It’ star, who recently hinted he may be collaborating with Slipknot, also admitted that his early interest in hip-hop didn't affect his studies as a youngster:

“I was in the top class for everything including French. I can’t remember much of it now, except that ‘gomme’ is an eraser.”

“The only thing I ever won on sports day was the maths race, where you had to run, do a sum and then run back.”
