A woman is due to appear in court today (March 26) after she was allegedly found in Simon Cowell's bathroom armed with a brick.

The Press Association reports that the incident happened on Saturday night (March 24) in Cowell's West London home.

The music mogul's publicist Max Clifford told The Sun that the episode was akin to "something from a horror movie". He said:

"There was a loud bang and Simon rushed upstairs to find out what was going on. It came from the bathroom so he went in and there was a woman standing there holding a brick. It was a very frightening experience for Simon, who told me it was like something from a horror movie."

A 29-year-old woman has been charged with breaking into the property and is due to appear at West London Magistrates' Court today.
