McFly's Tom Fletcher keen to keep writing for One Direction

McFly's Tom Fletcher has expressed his desire to keep writing songs for One Direction.

The McFly mainman penned the track 'I Want' for One Direction's debut album 'Up All Night'.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Fletcher said he "can't wait" to write more tunes for One Direction's next album. He said:

"I can't wait to write more tunes for One Direction as I'm really proud of their success in America. I haven't been given a brief as to what kind of song they want from me, we're just waiting to see what I come up with."

He added: "Some songwriters have never been in a band, but the One Direction guys can relate to me, as I've been through the same kind of experiences as they have. When I've been in the studio with them, the manic atmosphere was just the same as when we made our debut."

Fletcher's bandmate Danny Jones meanwhile reckons that One Direction's hit track 'What Makes You Beautiful' is one of the best pop songs of recent times. Speaking about One Direction's success, he said:

"I'm not at all jealous because they're so good at what they do and they're so likeable. They have earned it, and What Makes You Beautiful is one of the best pop songs of the last 10 years."
