Olly Murs plays April Fools' Day prank on fans

Olly Murs today posted several photos of him appearing to get a tattoo before revealing on Twitter that it was all just an elaborate April Fools’ Day stunt.

The ‘Heart Skips A Beat’ star, who was recently announced as the support act on One Direction’s US tour, teased the prank yesterday after taking to the social networking site to post: “Looks like could be getting my tattoo in Ireland Sunday!! Am enquiring about it!!”

The 27-year-old, who releases his new single, 'Oh My Goodness,' today, then followed it up this morning by uploading two images which showed him wincing whilst ‘getting inked’ on his back, alongside comments of “So it begins…” and “Wow the pain…”

Several fans expressed their disappointment at the news, but after posting a close-up image of a Manchester United Red Devil tattoo and a “It hurt but was worth it…” message, he was rumbled by suspicious followers who discovered that the picture had been lifted straight from Google.

Murs then came clean, admitting: “HA HA HA HA APRILS FOOLS DAY!! Although you lot all sussed it out!! Finding the pic on google hahahaha!! Was fun thou!!

“Hahaha next time I'll make sure go to page 8 on google!! #mursarmy are to clever!! Was a giggle thou!!”
