Adele nominated in The South Bank Sky Arts Awards

Vocal sensation Adele may have another trophy to add to her growing collection later this spring as she has been nominated in one of The South Bank Sky Arts Awards categories.

The 'Someone Like You' superstar will battle it out with her record breaking album '21' against Kate Bush's '50 Words For Snow' and PJ Harvey's 'Let England Shake' for the top pop prize at the ceremony.

2012 has already been a successful year for the popular hitmaker as she picked up 2 BRIT Awards, scooped 6 GRAMMYs and it was announced last night (April 1) that Adele won the International Album of the Year Juno Award.

The South Bank Sky Arts Awards will take place at London's Dorchester Hotel on May 1 and Lord Melvyn Bragg, who will host the prestigious event, explained that "although this is a celebration of British arts by British artists, we have a world class list of nominees."
