The official trailer for Whitney Houston's final movie, 'Sparkle', has appeared online.

The late icon stars in the film alongside Jordin Sparks, who plays her on-screen daughter, and 'Forget You' hitmaker Cee Lo Green, and the plot is loosely based on the story of Diana Ross' The Supremes.

In addition to acting in the motion picture, which will be her fourth, Houston also served as a producer and some of her final vocal recordings - namely 'His Eye is on the Sparrow' and 'Celebrate', which were both written by R Kelly and performed with Sparks - feature on the soundtrack.

'Sparkle' opens in America on August 17 and will be released in the UK on October 5.
