Carly Rae Jepsen set for debut UK No.1

Carly Rae Jepsen looks set to land her debut UK No.1 single this weekend with the track 'Call Me Maybe'.

The Canadian Idol star is currently riding high in the midweek update of the UK singles chart, which was released today (April 4).

She's ahead of the likes of Sean Paul, whose single 'She Doesn't Mind' charts at No.2, and Nicki Minaj's 'Starships', which lands the bronze medal.

Last week's No.1 - Chris Brown's 'Turn Up The Music' - drops to No.5, whilst Katy Perry's track 'Part Of Me' brings up the rear at No.6.

Elsewhere in the midweek singles chart, unsigned star Alex Day charts at No.11 with his track 'Lady Godiva', whilst The Script's 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' comes in at No.18 as mainman Danny O'Donoghue continues work on BBC talent show The Voice.
