Florence Welch on life beyond music

Florence & The Machine's frontwoman has opened up about her non-musical aspirations.

Talented vocalist Florence Welch has enjoyed an incredibly successful career with her band, but feels there is more to life and wants to explore her options beyond being a recording artist and performer.

Speaking to Stylist magazine, the flame-haired songstress explained that she wants to settle down, start a family and maybe even return to education:

"I do really want to have a family at some point. And have a relationship that actually works. And stay in the same place for three months."

Commenting on where she might like to live in the future, Welch continued: "Being a performer is so much of who I am but I really want to live in Rome. I'd like to live in Rome. I'd like to feed my brain for a bit, see some art, learn Italian. Or get an English literature degree. Or go back to art college.''

She also confessed that she needs constant intellectual stimulation and reads whenever she has the opportunity: "I've always been a voracious reader. I read in the strangest of places; a speedboat in Mexico, I'm reading; trekking in Brazil - we'll stop at a waterfall, I'll read."

"Perhaps I'd write a poetry compilation. I collect poetry and short stories that have influenced me. My life is scrapbook. I'm a collector of information. Even down to ticket stubs."
