Teen beauty Selena Gomez has revealed that she is putting a hold on her music career to focus on her work as an actress.

The star rose to fame on the Disney Channel as a part of 'The Wizards of Waverly Place' cast and explained to MTV News that, at the moment, her heart lies more with acting so she is going to push everything else aside to focus on it:

"I'm just kind of halting music for a bit. (I've) been really focused on more acting. For me it's been fun to take risks and do things that are completely different."

She has also been signed up to feature in an action movie alongside Ethan Hawke and spoke briefly about the project, adding that it's exciting to do something more mature:

"It’s really, really exciting. I go to Bulgaria and then I start filming. It’s more of an action movie, which is also different."
