Alabama Shakes displace Nicki Minaj in midweek UK albums chart

Alabama Shakes have dislodged Nicki Minaj at the top of the UK albums chart.

Minaj had been riding high with her new release 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' - but in today's midweek chart update, Alabama Shakes' 'Boys & Girls' has shot straight to No.1.

Adele meanwhile has moved up once place to No.2 with her immortal effort '21' as Minaj drops to No.3.

Jessie J and Emeli Sandé fill up the rest of the top five with 'Who You Are' and 'Our Version Of Events' at No.4 and No.5 respectively.

Counting Crows' 'Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation)' is the rest of the midweek chart's highest new entry at No.11, whilst Ramin's self-titled album debuts at No.12.
