Former Queen singer doubts Adam Lambert is ready for touring

Bad Company frontman Paul Rodgers, who sang with Queen for five years until 2009, doubts whether Adam Lambert has the experience to tour with the classic band.

Rodgers fronted Queen + Paul Rodgers between 2004 and 2009 as they collaborated on old Queen material.

American Idol star Adam Lambert is set to front Queen this summer for a number of gigs - but speaking to Spinner, Rodgers doubts whether or not Lambert has the experience to cope with touring with a massive band like Queen. He said:

"It's probably a dream come true for Adam, but I wonder if he has the groundwork to see him through a big tour with those guys."

Queen drummer Roger Taylor meanwhile recently told Billboard that the band and Adam Lambert were planning a total of four shows this summer, with two gigs scheduled for London in an effort to make up for the cancellation of Knebworth's Sonisphere Festival, which they were due to headline.
