Jason Mraz leads race for this week's UK number one album spot

Jason Mraz is currently on course for his first UK number one album with his fourth studio effort, 'Love Is A Four Letter Word.'

The follow-up to 2008’s ‘We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things,’ which peaked at No.8, is currently 2000 sales ahead of Adele’s record-breaking ‘21’ in the official midweek chart, whilst Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,’ Jessie J’s ‘Who You Are’ and Lana Del Rey’s ‘Born To Die’ make up the rest of the Top 5.

US soul singer John Legend’s debut album, ‘Get Lifted,’ has re-entered at No.18 following two contestants’ performances of 2005 single, ‘Ordinary People,’ on The Voice, whilst the BBC talent show coach Danny O’Donoghue is also benefitting from the exposure, with his band The Script charting with both their self-titled debut (No.16) and 2010 follow-up ‘Science and Faith’ (No.26).

Elsewhere, there are new entries for Train’s ‘California 37’ (No.7), Spiritualised’s ‘Sweet Heart, Sweet Light’ (No.11), Dragon Force’s ‘The Power Within’ (No.24), Anathema’s ‘Weather Systems’ (No.34) and Cancer Bats’ ‘Dead Set On Living’ (No.37), whilst Alex Clare’s ‘The Lateness Of The Hour’ climbs to a new peak of No.36.
