Paloma Faith champions The Voice over The X-Factor

Paloma Faith has declared her support for The Voice after describing rival The X-Factor as 'styled' and 'manufactured.'

The 26-year-old, who appears as a guest battle advisor on the BBC show this weekend, told Digital Spy that she prefers The Voice’s format as it allows contestants to develop their own identity.

She said: "I like the fact that they don't get to see them. Because that means it's about what it's supposed to be about - singing.

"I think a lot of them in the show do have their own look anyway. Most of the time that's a manifestation from the fact that you're a creative person and you do it to yourself.”

The ‘Upside Down’ singer, who releases her new album, ‘Fall To Grace,’ on May 28, continued: "I think that's better on The Voice because they dress like they want to dress.

"Rather than on The X Factor where they are all styled and manufactured. On The Voice, what they are is the main thing, it's not put to them."
