The Killers pay respects to saxophonist in apparent suicide, say "there's a light missing in Las Vegas"

Rockers The Killers have paid tribute to their saxophonist after he was found dead earlier this week in the backyard of a Las Vegas residence.

It was confirmed today (April 26) that the musician, 33-year-old Thomas Christian Marth who toured with the 'Somebody Told Me' group, had died from a gunshot wound to the head on Monday, April 23.

Following the tragic news, The Killers took to their official Twitter page to pay their respects to Marth and wrote:

"Last night we lost our friend Thomas Marth. Our prayers are with his family. There's a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy."

Jen Appel, a spokeswoman for the band, told Billboard that Marth "played saxophone on their 2006 album 'Sam's Town' and their 2008 album 'Day & Age'", and he also toured with them in support of 'Day & Age'.
