Tulisa unsure of debut solo single because she didn't write it herself

Tulisa Contostavlos, who was recently crowned the world's sexiest woman by FHM, has revealed that she initially doubted releasing 'Young' as her debut solo single because she didn't write it herself.

The singer explained to Capital FM that while she loved the track after the first listen, she was hesitant to use it as her first solo release because it was penned by someone else:

"It was one of those records that when I heard it I went 'I just have to have this record'. It just represents everything I'm about and even though I was kind of in doubt about putting out a single that I hadn't written myself as a first single."

Despite her initial reservations, Tulisa added that the simple structure of the track made her feel as though she could have written it so decided to go with her gut and make the song her own:

"I said it was written in such a way that I could have wrote it anyway – I could relate to it that much so I went 'yep, that's fine give me that record – I want to take it'."
