JLo opens up about post-partum depression struggle

Singer and American Idol panelist Jennifer Lopez has revealed that she suffered from post-partum depression following the birth of her twins back in 2008.

The 'On The Floor' superstar welcomed babies Emme and Max into the world several years ago, but has admitted that she initially struggled to bond with them and became troubled at the thought of being a new mother.

Speaking to Redbook magazine, JLo explained: "I remember after the babies were born, about seven to 10 days in, I was like, 'What is going on with me?' I felt sad and depressed and thought the babies didn't love me."

"I actually remember picking up the book ('What to Expect When You're Expecting') to try to see what was happening to me, and it said how you have this huge hormonal drop about seven to 10 days after you give birth. It's called the 'baby blues.' But I just thought they didn't like me!"

When asked by People magazine recently if she would like to have more children in the future, Lopez said she would definitely consider it:

"It would be a blessing. Every day... they just bring so much joy and happiness to your life, (and) they just bring you right back down to earth."
