Label apologises after suing Beastie Boys one day before Adam Yauch's death

A record label has apologised for poor timing after suing the Beastie Boys one day before the death of their co-founder Adam Yauch.

Yauch, also known as MCA, sadly passed away last week (May 4) aged just 47 after a battle with cancer.

It has been revealed that label TufAmerica filed a lawsuit the day before Yauch's death for alleged  wrongful use of samples in some of Beastie Boys' tracks.

The label's attorney however told E! Online that they are sorry for the timing of the lawsuit. Kelly Talcott said:

"I was very sorry to hear of Adam Yauch's untimely passing, and can assure you that the unfortunate timing of the filing of TufAmerica's complaint had nothing to do with his health. On behalf of myself and TufAmerica, I offer our condolences to Adam's family, friends, and fans."
