Ashleigh and her dog Pudsey win Britain's Got Talent 2012

Ashleigh Butler and Pudsey the dog have been crowned the winners of the 2012 edition of Britain's Got Talent.

17-year-old Ashleigh and her talented dog Pudsey, both from Northampton, have walked away with the incredible £500,000 prize and took the stage for a final time to perform their heartwarming routine.

Only Boys Allowed came in third place and opera singers Jonathan and Charlotte were named runners up of this year's competition. Speaking to Ant and Dec after she was crowned the winner, Ashleigh explained that she was completely overwhelmed by the support from the public:

"I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who voted and I'm so proud of Pudsey."

Music mogul Simon Cowell was visibly pleased that a dancing dog act had finally won Britain's Got Talent and said: "This has been my favourite year."
