Sir Tom Jones claims The Voice producers encourage namedropping

Sir Tom Jones has claimed that the producers of BBC talent show The Voice asked him to boast about the legendary stars he’s worked with.

The 71-year-old has become renowned for constantly namedropping the likes of Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra during the series, but speaking to The Independent, Jones believes that he hasn’t acted upon behind-the-scenes requests to brag about his famous friends:

"That would be showing off, and I don't want people to think I'm showing off, you know?"

The Welsh icon, who releases his 38th studio album, 'Spirit In The Room,' on May 25, also revealed that he had to think long and hard about accepting a coaching role on the show:

"I had to wonder whether I really wanted the fame and intrusion this kind of thing brings. I also wanted to know who my fellow coaches would be. That was really important. I wanted to know we could complement one another, you know, appropriately."
