Rita Ora reaches UK number one with debut solo single

Rita Ora has scored her second number one of 2012 with her debut solo single, ‘R.I.P.’

The Kosovan’s collaboration with Tinie Tempah sold over 100,000 copies in its first week to follow in the footsteps of her guest appearance on DJ Fresh’s ‘Hot Right Now,’ which raced to the top of the charts earlier this year.

Last week’s number one, Tulisa’s ‘Young,’ slipped to No.2, Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ dropped to No.3, while Alex Clare’s ‘Too Close’ reached a new peak at No.4, just ahead of Fun ft. Janelle Monae’s ‘We Are Young.’

Elsewhere, Justin Bieber scored new entries with both Far East Movement collaboration ‘Live My Life’ at No.7 and Mother's Day dedication 'Turn To You' at No.39, Rihanna achieved a second Top 10 hit from ‘Talk That Talk’ with ‘Where Have You Been?’ rising to No.8, whilst there were also debuts for Emeli Sande’s ‘My Kind Of Love’ at No.27, Matrix & Futurebound's 'All I Know' at No.29 and Labrinth's 'Express Yourself' at No.34.
