Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and more pay tribute to Donna Summer

The likes of Rihanna and Nicki Minaj have paid tribute to the late Donna Summer.

Summer passed away yesterday (May 17) after a battle with cancer, leaving behind a massive disco legacy.

Rihanna paid her own tribute to Summer by retweeting this simple message on Twitter: "RIP Donna Summer, Queen of Disco!!"

Nicki Minaj tweeted: "Wow, another legend gone. Rest in peace to the beautiful disco queen Donna Summer."

Former X Factor judge Kelly Rowland added her thoughts to the sad passing, saying:" Icon! Legend! Her voice! Her spirit! Rest In peace, you truly inspired me."

KISS bassist Gene Simmons meanwhile tweeted: "A sad goodbye to Donna Summer. Gracious. Caring. She sang on Burnin' Up With Fever on my solo album. She will be missed."
