Indonesian police "considering compromise" over Lady Gaga show

Indonesian police have said that are considering an offer of compromise from concert promoters over Lady Gaga's controversial upcoming gig.

Gaga is playing Jakarta on June 3 but the show has come under fire from some sections of the country's Muslim population due to its content, with police suggesting the show would be denied a permit.

The Strait Times reports that Jakarta police spokesman Rikwanto has said that concert promoters Big Daddy have agreed to a compromise where Gaga would "dress more modestly and "tone down her lyrics and sexually-charged choreography". He said:

"We have received a document outlining an agreement by the promoters Big Daddy, which says Lady Gaga's concert will reflect Indonesian culture. We will evaluate it, and if we agree, we hope to sign it today (Friday) and forward it to the national police."

However, the newspaper also quoted Gaga's manager Troy Carter as saying the singer will "play the show as it is," and that she is not "provocative for the sake of being provocative."
