Jedward to hang up their Eurovision boots

Jedward look like they have performed Eurovision for the last time after admitting they're ready to pass on the baton.

The duo have represented Ireland for two years in a row now, with Saturday's (26 May) effort seeing them finish a disappointing 19th place.

Speaking to the Mirror, Edward Grimes said that the country is set to go with some fresh blood next time around. He said:

"I think Ireland is going to win next year with somebody else. I think Bono should go. Or Robbie Williams."

John meanwhile said: "I think we'll leave it to somebody else to do it next year. We'll leave it to a new artist out there who is undiscovered. Ireland do have a chance of winning - we've won seven times before."

Jedward did however leave the door open for a Eurovision return - but only if the country's President phoned them up in desperation. Edward said:

"We never know what will happen. If the President rings us up and says, 'John and Edward, we need you. Seriously we need you guys'. Then we'll think about it."
