Gary Barlow's Sing E.P. tops UK album chart

Gary Barlow has today topped the UK album chart with his Sing E.P.

The seven-track release fended off stiff competition from Paloma Faith's 'Fall To Grace' to nab the top spot on the weekend of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

In a busy week for new releases, there were also debuts for Rumer’s ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ (No.3), Scissor Sisters’ ‘Magic Hour’ (No.4), Russell Watson’s ‘Anthems’ (No.5) and Sigur Ros’ ‘Valtari’ (No.8), while last week’s number one, Emeli Sande’s ‘Our Version Of Events,’ tumbled to No.6.

Elsewhere, there were new entries for Melody Gardot’s ‘The Absence' (No.18), Alt-J's 'An Awesome Wave' (No.19), Ultravox’s ‘Brilliant' (No.21), Regina Spektor’s ‘What We Saw From The Cheap Seats' (No.24) and Public Image Ltd.'s 'This is Pil' (No.35).
