Black Sabbath, Tenacious D and Slash amongst winners at 2012 Kerrang! Awards

The likes of Black Sabbath, Tenacious D and Slash were all honoured last night (June 7) at the 2012 Kerrang! Awards.

The rock and metal magazine hosted their annual awards ceremony in London, with readers picking the majority of the night's winners.

Heavy metal legends Black Sabbath were honoured with the Kerrang! Inspiration Award, on the eve of their headline performance at the Download Festival on Saturday (June 9).

Jack Black's comedy rock duo Tenacious D meanwhile picked up the Kerrang! Service To Rock gong, with Slash landing the Kerrang! Icon award.

Other winners on the night included You Me At Six - Best British Band - and US sludge rockers Mastodon, who won Best Album.
