Kylie Minogue: "My heart cries out for acting"

Kylie Minogue has reaffirmed her desire to return to acting.

The Aussie singer, who performed at Monday's (June 4) Diamond Jubilee Concert in London, told the Guardian that she has a "deep longing" to do more acting.

Minogue rose to fame on her native TV show Neighbours and has recently dipped her toes back in acting in the film Holy Motors - something which she says she would like to do again. She said:

"I'd definitely love to do more acting. My heart cries out for it; it's such a deep longing. For years I've been waiting to get back into it and it just hasn't happened. Or, it has happened and it was so disastrous that I thought: 'Oh, it's just not for me.'"

Referring to Holy Motors, Minogue added: "I've got a lot of work to do before people stop thinking, 'Oh, what's Kylie Minogue doing in a film?' But this has made me feel it's possible to do something beautiful and challenging, and to be believable as someone else."
