Ed Sheeran reveals Jubilee gig has made parents proud of his music career

Ed Sheeran has revealed that his parents are now happy with his choice to become a musician following his performance at Monday night’s Queen’s Diamond Jubilee gig.

The 21-year-old, who sang his number two hit, 'The A Team,' at the Buckingham Palace show, told The Sun that his appearance at the prestigious event has finally won round his mum and dad:

“I took both my parents and this is something that has made them actually be happy with me being a musician now – performing with Paul McCartney and meeting the Queen.”

The flame-haired singer-songwriter, who is set to play at today’s Capital Summertime Ball, also revealed that his mum, Imogen, became bosom buddies with Kylie Minogue at the post-concert party:

“They were in the corner for ages, talking away. I just stood there while they talked, thinking about how surreal it was.

“We didn’t leave until the early hours. My mum loved it though.”
