Slash reveals he's taken to counselling celebrity pals

Slash has revealed that he taken to counselling celebrity pals Robbie Williams, Russell Brand and Charlie Sheen, but claims that he’s partied harder than all of them.

The 46-year-old guitarist, who won the Icon Prize at Thursday night’s Kerrang Awards, told The Sun that he can relate to his string of former hellraiser friends but that none of them hold a candle to his previous wild antics:

“We’ve all been down a similar path, but I’ve gone harder than them all — including Charlie. For me it was about complete self-destruction. For the likes of Charlie it was a bit lighter — a bit more about fun.”

“I love Robbie. He’s one of my neighbours. I’m a dad and he’s just about to become a dad so he’ll soon understand what it’s like to come through a lot of s***.

“I got fond of Russell after I went to see him do stand-up in the States. He knows his stuff. Charlie is different to Robbie and Russell.”

The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist, who last month released his second solo album, 'Apocalyptic Love,' also told the Daily Star that he’s now a much better musician and performer than he was in his 80s heyday because of his new clean-living lifestyle:

“The buzz of being on stage is greater than ever for me, not least because I’m actually coherent these days. You couldn’t say I was coherent back then. I’m a better guitar player too.”
