Justin Bieber’s 'Believe' tops UK album chart

Justin Bieber's third studio effort, ‘Believe,’ is this week’s official UK number one album.

The Canadian teen idol fended off tough competition from Cheryl Cole’s ‘A Million Lights’ to beat the No.3 peak of his 2009 debut, ‘My World’ and top the album chart for the first time in his career.

Paloma Faith continued to rebound up the chart with ‘Fall To Grace’ climbing to No.3, just ahead of Emeli Sande’s ‘Our Version Of Events,’ and Amy Macdonald's 'Life In A Beautiful Light,' whilst last week’s number one, Gary Barlow’s ‘Sing’ E.P. dropped to No.6.

Elsewhere, there were new entries for Carrie Underwood’s ‘Blown Away' (No.11), Reverend & The Makers’ ‘@Reverend_Makers’ (No.16), and The Smashing Pumpkins' 'Oceania' (No.19).
