One Direction sign item for charity auction, urge fans to "bid big" for the great cause

The heartthrobs of One Direction are set to raise money for charity with a special auction of a typically British item that has been signed by each of them.

The five lads have scribbled their autographs over a dark orange Yorkshire Tea branded teapot and have asked their fans to bid on the lot through eBay.

The auction will run for another 9 days and is due to end on July 7 just after 5pm BST. Proceeds from the final sale will be donated to Wallace & Gromit's Children's Foundation and bidding is currently (June 28) at £8,000.

Member Louis Tomlinson took to his official Twitter page earlier this afternoon and encouraged his 4.1 million followers to get involved, writing:

"Who wants a signed @yorkshiretea pot. All the money goes to charity so bid big :)"

The group are currently on tour in the USA, where they have been for a while now, and Tomlinson added: "I fackkinggg miss London!!!"

Yesterday (June 27), the guys also shared details of an exciting competition that will give the winner the opportunity to board a plane with them for lunch and a flight "to a secret location", and the contest's entries will raise money for Comic Relief.
