One Direction supporters have backed singer Niall Horan after he reportedly called waiting fans at Dublin Airport a "shower of c***s".

The Irishman appeared in an amateur video arriving at the airport in Dublin as he attempts to return to normal life following a successful tour of North America.

Horan is reported to have said: "Remember the last time I walked down here? You shower of c***s."

However, the colourful language has been put solely down to Irish banter, with Horan also wishing one of the fans happy birthday and appearing in relatively good spirits.

One YouTube user cleared up the issue, posting the comment: "In Ireland 'shower of ****s' is used as 'a group of annoying people' but in a joking way. You say it all the time it really isn't offensive."
