Newton Faulkner scores impressive midweek No.1 with new album

'Dream Catch Me' hitmaker Newton Faulkner has stormed the UK Albums Chart this afternoon (July 11) with his new full length offering.

His latest record, entitled 'Write It On Your Skin', has debuted in the midweek update at No.1 and right behind him at 2 is Lianne La Havas with 'Is Your Love Big Enough?', although the Official Charts Company reports that there are less than 3,000 copies between them.

There have been 4 other new entries in today's Top 10 from the likes of The View, with 'Cheeky For A Reason' at No.3, and Frank Ocean, with his new cut 'Channel Orange', at No.6.

Powerhouse Adam Lambert shot in at No.7 with his sophomore album 'Trespassing' and Rush made an appearance at No.10 with 'Clockwork Angels'.

The newly reformed Stone Roses have fallen 19 places to No.39 with 'The Very Best Of' and this week's highest climber goes to Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and their self-titled album, which has risen 13 positions to No.20.
