Keith Richards confirms the Rolling Stones are rehearsing

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has confirmed the seminal band are currently rehearsing.

The band today (July 12) hit the 50th anniversary of their first ever gig and they have been rumoured to make a comeback to mark the milestone.

The Stones had been mooted for a possible role during this year's Olympics celebrations but nothing has come to fruition.

However, Richards told the BBC that there are things "in the works" and that the group are rehearsing. He said:

"There's things in the works - I think it's definitely happening. But when? I can't say yet. We're playing around with the idea and had a couple of rehearsals - we've got together and it feels so good."

Richards added that the Rolling Stones has been an "incredible adventure" and revealed it is something he isn't keen on giving up just yet. He said:

"There might be life in the old dog yet - we'll die gracefully, elegantly wasted. Sometimes its hard work and you wonder why you're doing it, but apart from those few moments it's been an incredible adventure."
