Fans pocket free tickets to Madonna concert after website error

A number of Madonna fans have been reaping the rewards of a technical glitch by pocketing free tickets to one of the singer's concerts.

The Queen of Pop is due to play Edinburgh's Murrayfield stadium on Saturday (July 21) but it seems there will be a bunch of unwitting freeloaders in the audience.

The Daily Record reports that a link given out on Tuesday (July 17) via Madonna's social networking websites to her official Ticketmaster page wrongly pointed users towards special competition winner tickets for the Scottish date.

It allowed fans to print off the winner tickets for free - with a Ticketmaster spokesman confirming that entry would be allowed with the printouts. They said:

"From Ticketmaster's point of view, the link is legitimate and those with access to the tickets will get into the concert at Murrayfield."
