Demi Lovato has lavished praise on her X Factor USA colleague Britney Spears.

The pair were introduced on the show earlier this year as the USA edition of the TV talent show finalised its 2012 judging panel.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, Lovato said that both she and Spears have been through tough times and as a result, she feels they have a special bond. She said:

"She's amazing and I'm having so much fun with her! We obviously have both been through a lot so I think that we kind of just get each other a little bit. We're still getting to know each other of course, but she's just so much fun to work with. She's really genuine and she's kind of shy sometimes when the audience cheers for her."

Lovato added that Britney Spears' sense of humour has been coming through on the X Factor USA auditions. She said: "I think it's really sweet that she's so humble, but she's also really, really funny on the show."
