Little Mix on their debut single: 'We didn't want it to be cheesy'

Girl group Little Mix have revealed that they put a lot of thought into their debut single because they didn't want it to be "too cheesy".

The ladies spoke to Attitude magazine about launching their career post-X Factor and explained that it was important to create the right vibe so took their time considering the sound and style of their first release:

"It's a feel-good song. We want people to feel something when they listen to it. But we didn't want to be too cheesy with the 'Believe in yourself' thing."

"There's nothing wrong with writing songs about clubs and parties but I think it's cool to do a song that means something."

When asked if their album will feature any collaborations, Little Mix added that there's "nothing definite" at the moment although they would love to team up with other acts in the future:

"We just wanted to focus on our own sound and hopefully after that... We'd love to do a collaboration."
