Adele and Olly Murs show pride as Team GB win first gold medal

The likes of Adele and Olly Murs have taken to Twitter to show their pride at Great Britain's first gold medallists in the Olympic Games.

Team GB has endured something of a slow start despite being the Games' host nation, but today (August 1) they picked up their first gold medal.

Helen Glover and Heather Stanning reigned supreme in the women's pair rowing event at Eton Dorney - making them the first British female rowers to win an Olympic title.

Adele quickly took to Twitter to congratulate the pair, saying:

"Go on girls! Congrats Helen and Heather, sooo happy for you! Our 1st gold medalists :)"

Olly Murs meanwhile tweeted: "Get in we have a GOLD MEDAL!! This proper emotional!! Well done girls!! Deserve it!! Smashed everyone!! GO TEAM GB!! Let's get some more now!!!!"
