Kiss and Mötley Crüe donating $100,000 to Aurora Victim Relief Fund after tragic shooting

Iconic rock bands Kiss and Mötley Crüe have pledged $100,000 (£62,500) to the victims of the shocking theatre shooting that happened in Colorado recently.

Suspected gunman James Holmes allegedly opened fire on film goers at a screening of 'The Dark Knight Rises' in Aurora, CO on July 20 and the two bands have promised to hand over the generous donation to the Aurora Victim Relief Fund.

In an official statement, Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx explained that he hopes the money will be put to good use for those involved in the tragedy:

"The terror these innocent victims of the Aurora massacre must have experienced and the profound loss their families now face is unimaginable. We hope that our small gesture helps inspire others to band together in compassion and financial support for all involved in this unspeakable tragedy."

Paul Stanley, from Kiss, added: "The terror these innocent victims of the Aurora massacre must have experienced and the profound loss their families now face is unimaginable. We hope that our small gesture helps inspire others to band together in compassion and financial support for all involved in this unspeakable tragedy."
