Now that the Olympic Closing Ceremony has been and gone, Little Mix beauty Perrie Edwards has given her opinion on boyfriend Zayn Malik's performance.

The One Direction lads delighted their fans across the globe when they appeared on the back of a lorry singing their chart-topping hit 'What Makes You Beautiful' and Edwards told Daybreak that she was proud of Malik and the rest of his group:

"I think it was amazing – the boys did so well. I think everyone was amazing. I was just sitting in the audience thinking I’m so proud to be British and just be there – the ceremony was incredible."

She added, "I loved it."

Singer Jade Thirwall also explained that the Olympics were fantastic in providing young girls with strong female role models: "We had some amazing role models in the Olympics – Jade Jones, Jessica Ennis – really representing it for the girls."
