Alanis Morissette banned from looking Vanilla Ice in the eye

Singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette has opened up about suffering from post traumatic stress disorder in the early years of her career and revealed that she was subjected to strange experiences as a touring musician.

In an interview with Britain's The Guardian newspaper, the 'Thank U' superstar explained that she often found herself overwhelmed during the 'Jagged Little Pill' era and was eventually diagnosed with PTSD:

"I still have PTSD from the Jagged Little Pill era. It was a profound violation. It felt like every millisecond I was attempting to set a boundary and say no and people were breaking into my hotel rooms and going through my suitcase and pulling my hair and jumping on my car."

Speaking about being on the road with the 'Ice Ice Baby' hitmaker Vanilla Ice, Morissette recalled a backstage conversation in which she was told not to look him in the eye:

"I was instructed not to look him in the eye. I ended up never really being near him so I didn't have to apply my restraint. Bless him, I think he was in the middle of the mayhem and it can be overwhelming."
