Adam Lambert waiting on the "green light" for American Idol judging role

Adam Lambert has revealed that he is waiting to be told whether or not he will be a new American Idol judge.

The vocal powerhouse, who was a contestant on the show in 2009, has been linked with filling the show's last vacant judging role.

Lambert has previously expressed his desire to be a part of the show again and speaking to the Herald Sun, the 'Trepassing' star said that he has been left twiddling his thumbs after holding talks with the show. He said:

"I am still waiting on the green light; I am still being considered as far as I know and it was really lovely to talk with them."

Lambert, who fronted Queen for a number of shows this summer, also commented on Jessie J's performance with the legendary band at the Olympic Games Closing Ceremony on August 12, saying:

"I love Jessie J but I did think that would have been fun. The word was I couldn't do it because I'm not a British citizen."
