Dappy to stand trial over petrol station assault

N-Dubz's Dappy is set to stand trial over the charges of affray following a brawl that took place in Guildford, it was confirmed this afternoon (August 23).

The 'No Regrets' hitmaker will face the charges with fellow defendants Kieran Vassell, Kalonji Stewart and Alfred Mille, and they all appeared in court today. Dappy will face a fine of £5,000 and up to 6 months behind bars if he's convicted.

The incident took place on February 28 at 3.30am and back in April, a Surrey police spokeswoman gave a statement about what happened explaining that one of the suspects spat at a girl after she refused to get into a car with him:

"Two girls and three men were outside the garage at 3.30am. They were interrupted by two suspects who had turned up in a car and asked the girls to go with them. The invitation was refused and one of the suspects then spat at one of the girls."

"As a result an altercation ensued involving the first two suspects and a further group of up to six black and white men who arrived in two further vehicles. The trio of men were assaulted and received serious facial injuries in the attack."
