Kevin Richardson explains decision to rejoin Backstreet Boys

Kevin Richardson has explained his decision to rejoin Backstreet Boys.

The 40-year-old, who recently reunited with the US boyband for a new studio album after originally leaving in 2006, told Good Morning America earlier today that he felt like it was a natural thing to do:

"I'm a person that follows my heart and gut, and my heart said this is the time. When I left it had nothing to do with these guys here."

The group, who performed 'Incomplete,' 'I Want It That Way' and 'Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)' on the show also promised fans that there’s a lot more to come over the next 12 months:

“2013 is going to be a big year for us, it's our 20th anniversary. We're in the studio right now working on an album so we're going to have that ready hopefully by next year.”
