Professor Green describes Simon Cowell as a 'genius'

Professor Green has described Simon Cowell as a 'genius.'

The 28-year-old, who performed his number one hit, 'Read All About It,' on The X-Factor last year, told Q magazine that he respects the media mogul’s achievements:

"I don't actually dislike Simon Cowell at all, I think he's wicked. He's smart, he's on the ball, he's fair.

"So yeah. I like him, from what we know of him. Everyone wants to hate him, it's so obvious and boring. He went bankrupt, he had a hit with [novelty pop act] Zig and Zag, look at him now, he's a genius."

The East London rapper, who premiered his new video for 'Avalon' earlier this week, also defended his appearance on the talent show after initially slating its finalists who have instant hit records:

“I’ll be honest, my point was that people who are contestants on the show get an automatic slot on the next year, so people who are affiliated with Mr Simon Cowell are favourites.”
