Former Westlife singer Brian McFadden got married over the weekend (September 2) and has taken to social networking site Twitter to thank his followers for their kind well-wishes.

He celebrated his love for model Vogue Williams at an intimate ceremony in Florence, Italy on Sunday and he has now spoken out about the nuptials publicly for the first time. He tweeted:

"Thanks to everyone for there well wishes. We had the best day ever. Thanks to all my family and friends for making our wedding so special x"

He later returned to the site and shared a personal photograph from their honeymoon (pictured above left), which he accompanied with the caption: "Mr and mrs mcfadden on the train."

Last week (August 28), Williams opened up about the impending ceremony to Independent.ie and revealed that it would be a "very small wedding": "It is all going to be a big surprise."

"I'm just looking forward to it. Everybody thinks I'm going to be nervous, there's not that much to be nervous about. It is a very, very small wedding. It is just people who are really close to us."
